Biography
I am a conservation scientist with broad interests in ecology, evolution, and conservation. I am currently an associate research scholar in Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment (C-PREE), in Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University. My research combines fieldwork, modeling, and data-mining to understand how human-induced disturbances impact biodiversity.
I began with my research interests on birds in Eastern Himalayans and Hengduan Mountains, where I studied elevational distribution and life history of montane birds. My PhD work looked at how urbanization affects stress responses and multiple niche dimensions of sub-tropical bird communities in Southwest China. For my postdoc, I am working with Prof. David Wilcove on understanding the extent and magnitude of illegal hunting of terrestrial vertebrates in China and the combined effects of hunting or by-catch on populations of migratory shorebirds in the East Asian- Australasia Flyway (EAAF).
Prior to Princeton, I received my PhD degree in Zoology from Sun Yat-sen University (2018) in Guangzhou, and received my master degree in Zoology (2015) and my bachelor degree in Wildlife and Nature Reserve Management (2012) from Southwest Forestry University in Kunming, China.
